- Prepare the Chicken
- Season chicken with salt and pepper. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Sear the Chicken
- Sear chicken for 3–4 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
- Make the Sauce
- In the same skillet, combine BBQ sauce, honey, bourbon, brown sugar, soy sauce, vinegar, paprika, and garlic. Simmer for 3–5 minutes until thickened slightly.
- Glaze & Cook
- Return chicken to the pan, coating it with the sauce. Reduce heat and simmer for 10–15 minutes, turning occasionally, until chicken is fully cooked and glazed.
- Serve
- Spoon extra sauce over the chicken before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley or green onions if desired.
Notes
For a deeper bourbon flavor, simmer the sauce 2–3 minutes longer before adding chicken.
Use bone-in chicken for a smoky, grill-style texture.
Substitute bourbon with apple juice or cola for a family-friendly version.
Great served with mashed potatoes, corn on the cob, or grilled veggies.
