Moroccan Mint Tea

A refreshing and sweet traditional Moroccan drink made with green tea, fresh mint, and sugar. It’s a symbol of hospitality and is served throughout the day.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 tablespoon Chinese green tea gunpowder tea
  • 1 large bunch fresh mint leaves
  • 3 –4 tablespoons sugar adjust to taste
  • 4 cups boiling water

Method
 

  1. Rinse the tea
  2. Place green tea in a teapot, add a little boiling water, swirl, and discard the water (this removes bitterness).
  3. Brew the tea
  4. Add 4 cups of boiling water to the teapot and let steep for 2–3 minutes.
  5. Add mint and sugar
  6. Add fresh mint leaves and sugar directly into the pot.
  7. Simmer gently
  8. Place the teapot on low heat for 5 minutes (optional but traditional).
  9. Mix properly
  10. Pour a glass of tea and return it to the pot to mix flavors evenly.
  11. Serve
  12. Pour from a height into small glasses to create foam on top.
