Notes

🍂 Add Nuts: Stir chopped pecans or walnuts into the topping for crunch.
🧈 Vegan-Friendly: Use coconut oil or plant-based butter instead of dairy butter.
🍐 Fruit Swap: Substitute pears or peaches for apples for a unique twist.
❄️ Storage: Refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
🔥 Reheat: Warm in the oven at 325°F (160°C) for 10–12 minutes to re-crisp the topping.
Choose tart apples like Granny Smith to balance the sweetness of maple syrup and cherries.
If using frozen cherries, thaw and drain them to avoid excess liquid.
You can reduce the sugar slightly if your apples are naturally sweet.
For extra flavor, add a splash of vanilla extract or bourbon to the filling before baking.
This dessert is perfect for fall gatherings, Thanksgiving, or cozy weekend treats.
