Ingredients

  • For the Sandwiches
  • 4 English muffins split and toasted
  • 4 large eggs
  • 4 slices of cheddar or American cheese
  • 4 slices of cooked bacon or sausage patties
  • 1 tbsp butter or oil for cooking
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional Add-ons
  • Spinach or arugula
  • Tomato slices
  • Avocado slices
  • Hot sauce or ketchup

Equipment

  • Skillet or non-stick pan
  • Toaster or griddle
  • Spatula
  • Biscuit cutter or mason jar lid (for shaping eggs)
  • Knife & cutting board

Method

  1. Toast the Muffins
  2. Split and toast English muffins until golden brown. Set aside.
  3. Cook the Eggs
  4. Grease a skillet lightly with butter or oil. Crack one egg at a time into a biscuit cutter or mason jar lid to hold the shape. Cook until the whites are set, then flip for 30 seconds if you prefer firmer yolks. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Heat the Meat
  6. In the same skillet, cook bacon or sausage patties until crisp and golden.
  7. Assemble the Sandwiches
  8. Place a slice of cheese on the bottom half of each muffin. Top with the egg, bacon or sausage, and any optional add-ons. Cover with the top muffin half.
  9. Melt & Serve
  10. Wrap in foil or place on a warm skillet for 1–2 minutes to melt the cheese. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

For a true McDonald’s flavor, use Canadian bacon instead of regular bacon.
To meal prep: wrap each sandwich in foil and refrigerate for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 1 month. Reheat in the oven or microwave.
Add a dash of maple syrup or a drizzle of hot honey for a gourmet touch.
Use whole wheat or sourdough muffins for a healthier version.
