Ingredients
  

  • Pickles & Veggies
  • 1 cup dill pickle spears
  • 1 cup bread and butter pickles
  • ½ cup cornichons or mini gherkins
  • ½ cup pickled onions or okra
  • ½ cup black or green olives
  • Meats & Cheeses
  • 6 oz salami or pepperoni slices
  • 6 oz prosciutto or ham
  • 8 oz assorted cheeses cheddar, gouda, mozzarella, cut into cubes or spooky shapes
  • Crackers & Snacks
  • 1 cup assorted crackers or pretzels
  • ½ cup roasted nuts almonds, pecans, or cashews
  • Fun Halloween Additions
  • Plastic spiders or skeleton hands for decoration non-edible
  • Edible “eyeballs” mozzarella balls with olive slices
  • Candy corn or chocolate eyeballs optional for sweet contrast

Equipment

  • Large serving board or platter
  • Small bowls or ramekins
  • Serving tongs or toothpicks
  • Small Halloween cookie cutters (optional for cheese shapes)

Method
 

  1. Prep Ingredients
  2. Drain and pat dry all pickles and olives. Slice cheeses and meats, and cut cheese into ghost or bat shapes if desired.
  3. Arrange the Board
  4. Start with small bowls for juicy items (pickles, olives). Place them evenly around the board.
  5. Add Meats & Cheeses
  6. Fold or roll meats and place them in clusters. Arrange cheese cubes or shapes between them for color balance.
  7. Fill the Gaps
  8. Add crackers, nuts, and other snacks around the board to fill in empty spaces.
  9. Decorate for Spookiness
  10. Add edible eyes, fake spiders, or small Halloween props for a creepy-cute finish!
  11. Serve & Enjoy
  12. Serve immediately or chill lightly until guests arrive.

Notes

Use different pickle varieties (sweet, sour, spicy) for flavor contrast.
