Ingredients
  

  • Group: The Slaw Base
  • 12 oz bag Broccoli slaw shredded broccoli stalks, carrots, and red cabbage
  • 1/2 cup Red onion finely diced or thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup Dried cranberries optional, for a sweet pop
  • 1/2 cup Sunflower seeds or slivered almonds for extra crunch
  • Group: Creamy Slaw Dressing
  • 1/2 cup Mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp Apple cider vinegar adds a bright tang
  • 1 tbsp Honey or granulated sugar to balance the acidity
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 tsp Salt or to taste
  • 1/4 tsp Black pepper

Method
 

  1. Group: Make the Dressing
  2. In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, honey or sugar, Dijon mustard, salt, and black pepper until completely smooth and creamy.
  3. Group: Combine & Toss
  4. In a large mixing bowl, combine the broccoli slaw, diced red onion, and dried cranberries if using.
  5. Pour the creamy dressing over the slaw mixture.
  6. Toss everything well until the broccoli slaw and vegetables are evenly coated in the dressing.
  7. Group: Chill & Serve
  8. Stir in the sunflower seeds or slivered almonds right before serving to keep them crunchy.
  9. Cover the bowl and place it in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving to let the flavors meld together. Enjoy!

Notes

Make-Ahead Friendly: This slaw actually tastes better if made an hour or two in advance, as it allows the broccoli slaw to soften slightly while staying delightfully crunchy. Just wait to add the sunflower seeds or almonds until right before serving so they don't get soggy.
Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
